Here is my finished cover design for China Miéville’s Embassytown for Subterranean Press. This edition will be out later this year.
And here’s the initial rough sketch I submitted for author/publisher approval before starting on the final artwork.

Nice! Do you generally get a chance to read the full book before you submit a design?
The smaller presses and independent publishers I work with usually send me the whole book to read and then I’ll come up with ideas that I’ll propose to them, but with the bigger publishers they’ll usually just send me a brief detailing the kind of scene they want and maybe also a few passages and/or a synopsis.
that is beautiful! Subterranean always gets the best artwork.
